  1. Thank you for posting this. The last few days have been so painful and sad with the loss of our precious kitty mauled to death by a vicious dog nearby. Listening to these songs has lifted my spirits even though I still have a sadness within me as I held her and said goodbye. I know God sees our pets like family and gifted them to us and my hearts prayer is to see her once again when I go to my heavenly and eternal home. In the meantime, being reminded of God’s love for me and my family is all good and singing these songs over and over gives me a peace that God is in control and He knows all.

    1. As an animal lover myself my heart goes out to you! My dog Jack is like family to me too. I don’t know if I believe if our exact pets will be in the afterlife (I certainly hope they will!), but my hope comes from the fact that the word says there will be a new heaven and a new earth, and it’s hard for me to imagine a world devoid of animals when God has created such a fantastic and creative world in this one. glad the songs have brought you to seek the Lord, who we know is near to the brokenhearted.

      1. I hold onto this verse Isaiah 11:6-9
In that day the wolf and the lamb will lie down together, and the leopard and goats will be at peace. Calves and fat cattle will be safe among lions, and a little child shall lead them all. The cows will graze among bears; cubs and calves will lie down together, and lions will eat grass like the cows. Babies will crawl safely among poisonous snakes, and a little child who puts his hand in a nest of deadly adders will pull it out unharmed. Nothing will hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain, for as the waters fill the sea, so shall the earth be full of the knowledge of the Lord.
I believe that they will be in heaven but in a special place. 🙂

  2. thank you so much for sharing your heart’s treasure of Songs & Scriptures. i am listening to praise and worship songs and learning God’s Word too. appreciate your sharing God’s blessing with us.

  3. As I saw this blog I wanted to jump a little (excitement). I realized that this is an essential work; finding the scriptural basis for the worship we give to God. I would like to super commend you on what I am confident is a calling of great importance from God to your life.

I am not sure if you take requests or if this is even the place to place/make one, but seeing how meticulous this work is, I felt I had to, at least, give it a shot.

There are a few songs that I have that, due to a project at my church, i’d be blessed if you could match to scripture (as you do).

Really, I am not sure if this is something you do or if it’s more of an inspiration based work, but anyhow, I felt greatly impacted by it and hope the Lord continues to bless it greatly.

    1. Thanks Jonathan! Go ahead and post your requests! I have about three songs that are half finished so I should need some new ones soon!

    1. Thanks! I’ve looked into it before and probably because I have a really basic set-up, but WordPress doesn’t allow it to be a plug in right now.

  4. Thank you for this wonderful resource. I am sharing some of your work with ladies in jail who cannot have music in their living areas, but can when we bring ‘church’ to them in a chapel. They ladies can have bibles, and your work allows these women to meet God in their quiet time and sing on the inside with their bible. BTW – please consider adding Amazing Grace-My Chains are Gone. God bless you!

  5. Thanks so much for this site! I am collecting a list of sites where scriptural allusions and topics and indexed for contemporary worship songs. If you know of some sites (I am thinking here of larger database, rather than personal or devotional), I would very much like to know about them. Would be a great help in research I am doing for doctorate – emotion in congregational singing.

    1. Hey Doug, what a great idea for a doctorate project. In terms of contemporary worship songs, the site Worship Together has key verses for each worship song! They also have interviews with the songwriters often. And of course there are lots of websites about older hymns which have been invaluable to me as I research verses on the modernized versions. Good luck!

      1. Thanks for the reply and encouragement! I have come across Worship Together and will be using it. Thanks again, and thanks for your heart of dedication to God’s word in God’s people.
